"Here is what I would say to those people who would judge her, what I say to myself on some days: What if all the transcendent moments of your life, the sound-track moments, the radiant detail, the gleaming thing at the center of life that loves you, that loves beauty-God or whatever you call it- what if all this were part of your illness? Would you seek treatment?..."
pg. 268-269, What I Had Before You by Sarah Cornwell.

Definitely! It was a great read! Thanks for stopping by :-)
DeleteOh my gosh! I love this teaser...love the way she writes...this is why this is my favorite meme...being able to hear samples of writing and find new authors!
ReplyDeleteAnd when I went to add it on goodreads I found out that it is set in my state :)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad!! This is one of my fav. memes too! I love getting bits of new books or books I have on my TBR list! I've added a lot since I started doing this!
DeleteSo cool- I love when that happens! I was reading a book and happened to read about the author on the back flap. Turns out she lives 15 minutes from me!!! I got a hold of her through her website and she goes to my library (I work at one) on occasion!! So that is awesome when you can relate to something about the book! I hope you enjoy it :)
This one sounds intriguing. Glad you're enjoying it :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of this book before, but that teaser certainly gets you thinking.
