The Good Luck of Right Now- Matthew Quick
I won this from a First Reads Goodreads giveaway. I wasn't sure whether I would like it since I had some issues with Silver Linings Playbook. I actually really liked it. It's really strange at first because the whole book are a bunch of letters to Richard Geere, the actor. It's basically a journal for a guy who has just lost his mother and all he has ever done is take care of her. She had an obsession with the actor and towards the end of her sickness she starts to pretend her so is him. Well that's what her son thinks and starts to pretend that he is the actor. Turns out she was actually calling him Richard because that was his fathers name. He then ends up taking in his priest that renounced his vows. It turns into a journey of him trying to find who he is and what he is going to do in his life. He then thinks that RG is his friend and makes up these scenarios with RG helping him through situations and giving him advice. He is a bit strange but that is what makes the story intriguing. I enjoyed this and it makes up for my problems with Silver Linings! Will be reading more by this author!
