Unmasking Juliet- Teri Wilson

I won this from a First Reads Goodreads giveaway. I really liked this book. I got through it rather quickly. It was a cute take on Romeo and Juliet but there are a lot of differences. Sometimes when an author takes on a classic and put it into their writing, it becomes too cheesy. I didn't think it was like that with this book. It was cute and charming. Most of the time I didn't think about it being inspired by R&J. So I didn't really find myself comparing the two stories. I was just immersed in the actual story by Teri Wilson.

I really liked the characters and their development. I loved how Juliet went from not having a voice in her family to finally finding it. In doing so she stuck up for herself and was able to do what made her happy. I wasn't quite sure how they were going to tie things up in the end and be together. I loved how Leo was totally unbiased about the family "fued" and could see it from the other point of view. He knew what he wanted and he wouldn't let anyone tell him what to do. That's something that needed to be rubbed off onto Juliet.

I really loved Alegra. She added some funny moments to situations. She had a lot of laugh out loud moments. I would definitely read a book about her.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this and would read more from this author. It was a nice love story.
